Brisbane Flooding

Brisbane Flooding has temporarily delayed Dello Mano brownie, cake making, our stores, order pick ups and delivery.

Due to the massive weather event, Brisbane has flooded. Many roads are impassable. Our team, delivery drivers and suppliers are on stand by as soon as we can get back working.

The rain

The rain started mid last week and continued relentlessly for 5 days. The image below is Moggill Road this morning. The image shows our local garden nurseries engulfed in the water.

Such a sad time for everyone just as we're all coming out of the Covid Pandemic. 

The water amount and speed has been ferocious. The image below is our driveway as the waters raced down the hill beside us.

Many parts of Brisbane are flooded today and will remain flooded for days to come.

The rain has stopped but

It finally stopped raining yesterday. As I type this note however thunder is raging to the back of our property.

There are two more high tides expected and we remain on alert. More rain is anticipated tomorrow and Thursday. We're hoping for the water to recede today. If the water recedes we may be in a better position to take on the coming rain.

Impact on Dello Mano Business

The flooding closed our kitchen and Wintergarden Brisbane CBD Brownie and Cake shop yesterday. We were unable to delivery to our Coffee Commune Bowen Hills Pick up location.  The city has many roads flooded. People were advised to stay home or safe and not travel. Brisbane was very quiet. 

Brisbane city yesterday and today is quiet. The River has flooded many roads and the boardwalk and businesses totally flooded.

Brownie and Cake Baking Today

Our team is back baking today (1 March) and we're hoping the Wintergarden store will be back open tomorrow ( Wednesday 2 March) . We so grateful to our team supporting the business during first the Covid situation and now the floods. It is heartwarming to have everyone getting back as soon as possible.

As with yesterday, our cake delivery, brownie delivery and all order pick ups are currently on hold. Our pick up location at Bowen Hills is also on hold. We are currently unable to drive  orders across the flooded roads

Thinking of all 

Many businesses around Brisbane are today flooded and our hearts go out to our fellow small business owners. Of course too we think of the many homes ruined or impacted by the flood waters. Our hearts also go out to the families of those people injured or lost by these flood waters. 

The flood waters extend way beyond Brisbane and we send our best wishes to all impacted.

Our thanks to all the rescue workers helping people who are stranded or in need.

We're committed to continuing to delivery the best brownies, cakes and hampers and will be back at work as soon as possible.

Brisbane finished the day yesterday with a beautiful rainbow. Hopefully a sign from nature that good times are ahead.
